La Dolce Vita... the only real word to describe it is magnifico! No amount of words can truly capture the sheer joy of being there and although I've never written a review before, I'll try. Margaret & Luigi, owners and hosts went out of their way to ensure every part of our stay was stress free with a minimal amount of intrusion unless wanted. Margaret picked us up from the airport and explained the local customs & places of interest and made us feel less like guests and more like friends. The villas are all beautifully finished with a 5 star fit out, overlooking manicured gardens and full sea views. Meals are lavish with choices each day for the next day's menu. You may dine anywhere, from next to the pool, a table on the beach, or waited on in your villa and this is a part of what makes it so special, nothing is too much trouble. Margaret also arranged our wedding, from local musicians, the celebrant, venue decorated with local flowers to surprised Fijian warriors to escort the bride. All of the participants from staff to guests had a ball and it felt like the locals joined in because they like you. La Dolce Vita is really a five star resort without the price tag or pretensions. Salute, Margaret & Luigi!

La Dolce Vita has something for everyone. Margaret and Luigi made us feel very much at home. We were spoilt with Michelle's yummy authenthic Fijian meals, Teca's singing/dancing and Salote's brilliant service. You can't leave La Dolce Vita without going to Luigi's secluded island. The white sand and clear water was a snorkelers paradise. Lovely coral and many varieties of fish. I highly recommend this personalised boutique resort to anyone.

La Dolce Vita - sweet as life can be. The name of the resort shows and keeps its promises. The owners Margaret & Luigi are pampering their guests as they were part of their family. The resort is new - the official opening will be in July 2009 - and rather small, therefore very personal. The exclusive villas and the brand-new pool are located directly by the sea. La Dolce Vita provides beachtowels. Snorkeling gear, canoeing and a daily laundry-service is even free. When we were there, in April 2009, Electricity was available only from 5.30 pm and during the night but that didn't bother us at all and the owners intend to extend the availability as soon as possible - with solar energy. The walk-in rate is fabulous! For me and my partner everything was included in the price. And it is also very much recommended for families as La Dolce Vita provides a nanny whenever the parents wish to deeply relax.
The resort is 30 minutes away from the airport in Savusavu on Vanua Levu. Margaret will pick you up for free. The transfer from the resort to town costs about 35 Fijian Dollars by taxi or 3 Fijian Dollars with the local bus (highly recommended!) but most likely you won't need either of them because Margaret offers you a ride twice a week as she settles her business in town.
We did also enjoy plenty of unique trips such as: visiting a group of about 200 spinner-dolphins in the biggest bay in Fiji, snorkelling the split-rock in Savusavu, canoe trip to the near salt-lake or diving at the worldclass diving area of the rainbow reef (great white wall!).
Since the owners of the resort don't do much of advertising the best way to get a great deal is to contact them directly in advance.

We have stayed with Margaret and Luigi at their beautiful waterfront property for 2 weeks. This is not your ordinary large vacation facility. It is a trendy boutique- style resort with exceptional personalized service. The food is absolutely sensational- everything is home made from scratch. Michelle, the cook, has the skills of a 5-star restaurant chef and every meal is prepared to your liking. The whole staff is incredible, attentive and will go out of their way to accommodate your needs such as serving dinner by candle-light in your room or lunch by the pool. The villa-style bures are beautiful, stylish and well equipped with a view that can't be beat. There are no everyday life interruptions such as TV, phone or Internet. Therefore you have a real chance to get away from it all. The property has everything from golfing, hiking to swimming and kayaking. The best part of La Dolce Vita are the owners, Margaret and Luigi. They will do everything in their power to make your stay perfect. After the time we spent with them they are like an extended family to us and we will be back. The main purpose of our trip was Scuba diving and the best diving operator is Colin and Janine at KoroSun Dive. Located approximately 25 min. drive from La Dolce Vita.

There was 17 of us family members which included 3 children for 4 nights over the 2010 Easter Break. Had a fantastic time that words can't describe as you have to experience it for yourself. Management & Staff were excellent. Villas were clean & beautiful, Food was excellent and Reef Walk is a must. No one was bored as there was always something to do. Didn't even miss TV/Mobile Phones/Internet which was fantastic. Anyone looking for a boutique style holiday, La Dolce Vita is the place to be. You don't have all those people like in a large resort so it's a one on one with the staff which makes you feel like family. I would definitely go back there and recommend it to anyone to try it at least once and you will be going back for sure.

When we landed in Savusavu, after a surprisingly good flight, we met Margaret and Lui, our most gracious and affectionate hosts. From that moment on we knew we would be in good hands as nothing was too much trouble as they went out of their way to accomodate us in all activities. We could not believe what one man (with the help of his supportive wife) could achieve. The entire property is so well maintained and Lui and Margaret are constantly thinking of new things that will enhance the beauty of "La Dolce Vita".
We certainly had our privacy so that we could relax by the pool or just simply take a nap in the magnifacent bedroom. Mealtimes were a time to chat and eat excellent meals prepared by Michelle, accompanied by a good drop and after dinner liquers of course.
I felt so refreshed after our well-deserved holiday that I think we will keep going back. (Marco can get to play some more golf if I can shop for pearl earings!)

La Dolce Vita in Vanua Levu was the best experience. The cottages were gorgeous and you truly felt you were in a tropical paradise. We stayed in the two bedroom built by Luigi himself with his son and it should definitely be photographed for magazines.
We got up early in the mornings to hike to the top of their property to look out at spectacular sunrises. Margret and Luigi's dogs chose to join us on some mornings. The staff make it for a cozy experience and Michelle their cook will definitely tempt your taste buds.
The local villages were close by to see the true Fijian life and Margret and Luigi give you enough space to enjoy the quietness of Fiji but fill in with activities at your request. I highly suggest going to see "Joe the dolphin caller" and swimming with the dolphins. It is an experience like no other.
